Are you on the path to parenthood and facing challenges? Understanding your fertility health is the key to making informed decisions. Our Fertility Health Check includes essential biomarkers and can provide insights into potential issues:

  1. Luteinising Hormone: An imbalance can disrupt the menstrual cycle and potentially lead to fertility problems.

  2. Follicle Stimulating Hormone: Irregularities can impact egg development, potentially affecting fertility.

  3. Anti-Mullerian Hormone (AMH): AMH levels correlate with the number of eggs you have, offering insights into ovarian reserve.

  4. Oestradiol: Oestradiol imbalances may affect the maturation and release of eggs, playing a role in fertility issues.

Symptoms of fertility health concerns can include irregular or absent menstrual cycles, pain, changes in menstrual flow, or difficulty conceiving.

Empower yourself on your fertility journey. Our Fertility Health Check provides valuable insights to help you navigate this important phase of life. Your dreams of parenthood matter, and we're here to support you every step of the way.

Hormonal evaluation studies identify hormonal imbalances that may impair your fertility as hormones control every step in achieving pregnancy, from stimulating the development of an egg to ovulation and implantation of a fertilized egg in the uterus.

Each hormone that plays a role in conception must be produced in a specific amount at a precise time in your menstrual cycle.

Hormonal studies measure the levels of certain hormones produced by your body during your cycle.

You are likely to have a series of simple blood tests at various points in your cycle. The tests you choose may help your care provider to determine your diagnosis, as well as to identify the best treatment options for your personal circumstances.

What is Ovarian Reserve?
The test to check the number of eggs you have left in your ovaries is known as ‘ovarian
reserve’. When trying to assess your probability of conception, egg quality and quantity, your age is one of the most important factors to consider as the number of eggs constantly decreases with age and by the time you start the menopause your egg store is depleted.

This test requires the blood sample to be taken on Day 2- 4 of your monthly menstrual cycle. If you experience longer cycles the optimum day must be calculated* (get in touch for assistance).

Following testing for fertility concerns, will I get definitive answers?

In approximately 25% of couples, the cause of fertility problems remains unexplained, this is something to be aware of, but the most effective way of monitoring your personal situation is to get tested.

Do I need to fast before I have my blood test?
Food does not usually affect your blood tests for hormonal studies so it’s okay to eat. However, if you are having your Cholesterol status checked then you must fast for at least 8 hours before, so best to book in for an AM appointment.

Do I need to stop any other treatments or medications prior to my blood test?
High levels of biotin can skew common tests used to diagnose conditions including pregnancy, cancer, thyroid disease, heart disease, anaemia, and other hormonal-related conditions. Fortunately, often only a day without taking the supplement is required for accurate test results.

It is best to undertake testing for Fertility before commencing any form of hormone therapy such as HRT or the contraceptive pill. If in doubt check with your doctor.

The contraceptive pill/HRT can affect the results of some tests, you may need to consider taking the test when on a break from these to give more accurate results.
