Vitamin B12 (Active) & Red Cell Folate

This test measures Active Vitamin B12 levels in the blood, which is essential for nerve function, red blood cell production, and DNA synthesis.

This test is recommended for individuals who - Experience fatigue, weakness, or brain fog, which could indicate a B12 or folate deficiency. Have conditions like anaemia, Crohn’s, celiac disease, or a vegan/vegetarian diet that may affect B12 levels. Also those who are pregnant or planning pregnancy.

Fasting is not required for this test. If you are taking B12 or folic acid supplements, consult a healthcare professional, as they may affect your results. Stay hydrated before your appointment to make the blood draw easier.
