A glucose blood test, also known as a blood sugar test, is a diagnostic procedure that measures the concentration of glucose (sugar) in the bloodstream. Glucose is the primary source of energy for the body's cells and is obtained from the food we eat. This test is commonly used to screen for and monitor conditions such as diabetes mellitus, a metabolic disorder characterised by high blood sugar levels.
